13th Annual Ride the Point — Jim Krause Memorial Ride

A community cycling event hosted by the Point Loma Rotary Club, with routes on Point Loma and around scenic San Diego. Registration, sponsorships and donations support pancreatic cancer research at UC San Diego; the event says it has raised more than $500,000 to date. Field size is limited to 600 riders. SAG support, rest stops and volunteers support riders along the courses.

- 7:00 a.m. — 25-mile Enthusiast and 62-mile Metric Century rides start.
- 8:00 a.m. — 5-mile Family Fun Ride starts.
- 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. — Free expo with vendors, music and refreshments.
Details The 5-mile ride follows relatively flat bike paths along San Diego Bay and is described as suitable for cruisers, beginning riders, challenged athletes and families. The 25-mile ride includes exclusive street routes and a challenging climb; the 62-mile ride includes exclusive street routes and challenging climbs. No ride registration price is stated. Sponsorship packages are listed at $20,000 Platinum, $10,000 Gold, $5,000 Silver, $2,500 Bronze and $1,000 Small Business.
