A weekly one-day, four-round rapid chess tournament. The calendar lists Saturdays on November 7, 14, 21 and 28; December 5, 12, 19 and 26; and January 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Schedule The calendar lists the event from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Onsite registration is 10:00–10:25 AM; Round 1 starts at 10:30 AM. Round 2 follows, with lunch around 2:30 PM, Round 3 around 3:00 PM and Round 4 around 4:30 PM. The tournament ends at approximately 6:30 PM.
Game 45 with a five-second delay. USCF membership is required; players can join at the event. New players, kids, all ages and all talent levels are welcome. Onsite registration only; bring a chess set and clock if possible. One half-point bye is allowed. A ringing cell phone during a game incurs a $5 fine. Club membership is required once a player has won $100 in prizes; dues are Juniors (under 21) $60, Regular (ages 21–63) $84, Seniors (over 64) $72, and Active military $60. Some Saturdays have no Gambito; check the club calendar for schedule changes.
