More details
Schedule - 11:00 AM–5:00 PM: Event activities; individual activity times are not specified.
- Picnic Basket Battle Royale: Bring your own picnic basket and extra goodies to share. Awards are for Overall Presentation, Most Creative, and Most Appetizing. Tables and chairs are provided; participants may bring a picnic blanket. Compete or spectate.
- Splendid Teapot Racing: Racers should be ready during the Teapot Racing time slot listed on the master schedule; no time slot is given here. Optional Teapot Racing 101 offers demos and practice driving time, and extra racers will be available for test drives and racing. To race, the vehicle must have a teapot element and be a ground-based, battery-powered radio-controlled vehicle that moves on indoor low-pile carpet and climbs small ramps. Maximum dimensions are 12 inches wide × 12 inches tall × 16 inches long; the teapot need not function. Bonus points for event-themed design elements and driver outfits. The indoor course uses the fencing lanes and flooring, with obstacle challenges likely including the Ramp of Doom, See-Saw of Indecision/Teeter Totter of Terror, Chasm of Death, and Slalom of Skill. Races are head-to-head, and drivers may walk alongside their racers. Rules may change. Sign up with organizer John Bollman.
- Nerf™ Gun Dueling: Bob Mogg, the Iron Taylor, is dueling specialist and referee. Participants may bring a NERF™ gun firing standard NERF™ projectiles, subject to a limited number of rounds; a variety of NERF™ weapons will also be available. To compete, demonstrate minimum skills by shooting assigned targets in a shooting gallery. Highest scorers may compete in one-on-one duels, with finalists using moving robotic targets. The rules had been requested, and organizers hoped to post them; no rules link or details were available.
- Tea Dueling: Dunk a biscuit (a “cookie” for Americans) into piping-hot tea, then hold it up before eating. The last person to eat the biscuit cleanly wins. Winners receive Ribbons of Honor, culminating in the Triple Spoons Ribbon. Erasmus (David Drake) returns as Tiffin Master.
- Game Den: Jeb Haught, game guru, will help guests join board- or dice-game diversions and amusements. Guests may bring their own game.
- Steampunk-related vendors will be present; no vendor names are provided.
